District Hosts Representatives from Senator Patty Murray's Office

Three representatives from U.S. Senator Patty Murray’s office visited the Wapato School District in early September to learn more about the district and how federal funding supports its students.
The representatives met with Superintendent Kelly Garza and other district administrators to discuss Wapato’s students, schools, programs, and needs. District leaders explained how federal funding, including Impact Aid and Title I dollars, supports important programs and services for students.
The group also discussed possible changes to the U.S. Department of Education and whether they could cause delays or other problems with federal payments. The visit gave district leaders an opportunity to share Wapato’s story and help Senator Murray’s staff better understand the needs of the district and community.
