Cyber Safety Resources
Wapato School Districts Standards
1. Annually, educate Wapato School District student's on:
- Cyber Bullying
- Social Networking
- Social Media and Sexting
- Online Etiquette, Plagiarism, and Copyright
2. Students from 4th to 12th Grades are expected to take the Cyber Safety quiz in Gaggle.net.
- Students can access the quiz by logging in Gaggle.net using their respective usernames and passwords.
- Information regarding their usernames and passwords can be obtained from the building secretary.
- Students can still be provided with additional cyber safety lessons.
3. Students from Pre-K to 3rd Grades will receive their Cyber Safety education through classroom instruction from the, Librarian, or the classroom teacher.
Annual Expectations
Elementary
- Building Librarians will have a three-month window starting September 2th through December 7th to have 4th to 6th Grade students take the Cyber Safety quiz in Gaggle.net;
- Provide cyber safety lessons, especially for Pre-K to 3rd Grade students; and, build awareness for all students.
- {place holder} will be completed annually no later than December 7th by the School Librarian.
Middle School
- Building Librarian will have a three-month window starting September 2th through December 1st to :have students take the Cyber Safety quiz in Gaggle.net;
- provide cyber safety lessons; and, build awareness for all students.

High School
- Building Librarian will have a three-month window starting September 2th through December 7th to:have students take the Cyber Safety quiz in Gaggle.net;
- Provide cyber safety lessons; and, build awareness for all students.
- {place holder }will be completed annually no later than December 7th by the School Librarian.
Parent Information Cyber Safety Parent Tips
- Place computer in a place that is visible
- Keep the lines of communication open so they feel free to discuss their concerns about the Internet
- Start Internet safety conversations at an early age
- Surf the Internet with your young children
- Set expectations on what is appropriate and inappropriate use of Internet
- Report any illegal content to authorities
