Dear Wapato School District Families and Community,

As we continue our work to reconfigure our elementary grade levels for the 2026–2027 school year, I want to share an important update regarding elementary principal and assistant principal assignments.

After careful consideration, the following elementary administrative assignments will be in place for the 2026–27 school year:

>Adams Elementary will house all 4th and 5th graders.  The current Adams Principal, Ben Newell, will remain as principal.  The current Satus Elementary Principal, Alejandra Rodriguez, will move to Adams and serve as the Assistant Principal.   
>Camas Elementary will serve all 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade students. Current Camas Principal, Amber Kinley, will remain as principal.  The Camas assistant principal will be Ana Wright who is currently serving as the assistant principal at Adams.
>Simcoe Elementary will serve all preschool, transitional kinder and kindergarten students. The current Simcoe Principal, Theresa Shinn, will remain the Simcoe principal.  She will be assisted by Ken Olden who currently manages the District’s preschool program.  

As we move forward, we will continue to communicate regularly and work closely with families, school leaders and staff to ensure a smooth and thoughtful grade level reconfiguration at our elementary schools.
