In an effort to help stop the spread of the coronavirus in Yakima County the Yakima Health District issued a countywide directive on June 3rd saying everyone in Yakima County must wear a face covering while at any indoor or outdoor public space where you may be within 6 feet of someone who does not live with you. Wapato Public Schools supports this directive and strongly encourages everyone in the Wapato community to do their part by wearing your mask. The District also wants to have a little fun with the directive and celebrate all of you who are wearing a mask.
When you are out and about and wearing your mask, snap a quick picture and text it to the District's Community Relations Coordinator 509-307-4923 or email it to mikeb@wapatosd.org
Between now and the end of the school year (June 19) we will feature your pictures on our website and social media (Twitter) platforms as part our "Stop the Spread & Reopen Our Schools" campaign. We know many of you have either made your own or purchased some fun and creative masks. Let us help you show them off in hopes of encouraging everyone to do their part to stop the spread and reopen our schools.
